Charles Bank Gallery is pleased to present this year's winter group show, Color or Colour ..., which features a select group of international artists from both sides of the pond. The exhibition features work by Ben Eine, Lee Baker, Katrin Fridriks, and Michael Bevilacqua.
Ben Eine is based in London and known worldwide for his large-scale outdoor street murals of alphabet lettering. For this exhibition, Eine will be creating a unique wall mural on the gallery's large back wall, viewable from the Bowery. Available on the day of the launch will be limited edition prints of only 50 that will mirror one of the selected pieces on display. Each print will be sprayed and painted by Ben Eine himself, making every print unique. The edition will launch online at 7pm on November 27th, to coincide with the launch of the exhibition.
Lee Baker will be converting the entire lower floor into his own colorful wonderland with a selection of his works on the walls and a new installation which draws from his subject inspiration of the aggressive force of urbanization and industrialization and the depiction of unstoppable power of nature set against seemingly indomitable cities and other human constructs.
Katrin Fridriks has gained huge notoriety internationally with her unique style of abstract painting on canvas and paper, with her eclectic mix of colors that fuse the natural energies of her native Iceland – fire, water, earth and air – with contemporary pop art, graffiti and calligraphic references. A selection of her newest works will be on display.
